Stephanie had only been engaged for twenty-four hours and she was now ready to rescind all ties to her biological family and escape into the waiting arms of her comparatively sane in-laws. She only hoped that her fiancé would be able to hang on until the wedding. Almost every person in her family sold some kind of insurance or another, so everyone assumed that they would be practical people. They were, but they also had a morbid fascination with odd insurance claims and how that affected the costs of insurance as a whole, particularly in regards to life insurance quotes. While it was fascinating to hear that a number of brides and grooms suffered a fatality or other kind of accident on their honeymoon, that wasn’t exactly the best thing to say at someone’s engagement party.
